Opportunities for Overseas Masters

 

The Tipperary Foxhounds are currently overseen by a committee of six masters, each of whom lives within our hunt country. What is not widely known is that we also welcome - and indeed encourage - overseas masters to join and to hunt with us. As one of Ireland's oldest and most prestigious packs, we offer unrivalled sport to the international horseman and woman looking to participate in the unique combination of camaraderie and thrill that only traditional Irish hunting can offer.

 

As an overseas master, we would have certain expectations of you. You are either a proficient rider to hounds, or you have the ambition and determination to become one. You will be a lover of nature and a respecter of the traditions that we hold dear. You will become a member of our extended family with all the privileges and obligations that this entails, so it is important that each side gets to know each other. For this reason, becoming an overseas master is a gradual process; we invite you to hunt with us and to get to know us as we get to know you.

 

As an overseas master, our aim is to give you a comprehensive package of benefits which will allow you to maximise your enjoyment of hunting with 'The Noble Tipps'. Overseas masterships are tailored to the individual depending on your abilities, location and hunting ambitions.

 

Overseas masters can hunt one day a season or every day if your diary allows! In addition to the right to wear the master's pink coat in the field, we appoint a named senior member of the hunt to be your local host, assisting with choice of hunt meets, accommodation, livery, transport, and anything else that you need advice and assistance on.

 

As well as the basic elements above, we strongly encourage our overseas masters to participate in the social side of hunting with the Tipp's; be that a warming whiskey in the local pub after a good day out, or dinner parties with members of the hunt. Finally, there is the annual hunt ball, to which overseas masters receive preferential rates and guaranteed access for their guests.
